Miss Boon Dox Dude is an exceptional producer by Boon Dox John and One More Dude, a mare that originated from the Mel Potter breeding program. Miss Boon Dox Dude is the dam to PC Miss Frosty Boon, PC Question Me Doc (Clint Robinson and Curt LaDuke's PRCA steer wrestling horse,) PC Boons Girl ('00 5-State Futurity Champion and Texas Circuit Finals Champion,) PC Miss Sugar More (USTRC Heeling horse owned by Frank Fisher,) and Frenchmans Boon Dox (sold in the '09 Myers Sale for $20,000,) yearling filly PC Miss Frosty Chic sold to Tyler and Dee Haugen in the '09 Cowan Sale for $13,750.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PC Frenchmans Fox is an own daughter of to the Loiseau mare Frenchmans Fox, the first two year old to run AAA in South Dakota. PC Frenchmans Fox was a standout futurity mare as well as was her full sister, PC Frostmans Fox. PC Frenchmans Fox is to barrel futurity champion PC Frenchmans Ella, owned by Jan Fisher.  Lindsay Loiseau-Hins is starting to haul a full sister to Ella.

 

 

CP Flying Sun is an irreplaceable mare in the Cowan program. Purchased from Bob Johnson, she is the dam to Clay's bull dogging team, PC Boston Buck (Newelly) and PC Boston Doc (Duece,) Travis's calf horse PC Quick Bob, and barrel futurity money winner PC Boons Sheyenne.

PC Sun Burst is a daughter of CP Flying Sun and PC Boston Bob, a full sister to Duece and Newelly. She joined the broodmare band due to injury, otherwise she would undoubtedly be in the rodeo string.

 

AP Dakota Sun is Kate’s mare. She is an own daughter of Sun Frost by a Laughing Boy x Docs Jack Frost mare. Campaigned her futurity season by Bunny Bail, Dakota  was the ‘95 Fizz Bomb Consolation Champion and numerous short go qualifier and then Katie qualified for the 4-H Finals.  PC Zankota (PC Fire N Smoak x AP Dakota Sun) was the high selling gelding in the 2009 Cowan Ranch Sale.

PC Frostmans Foxis quite possibly the highest money earning daughter of Sun Frost.  A true product of the legendary Sun Frost and Laughing Boy cross, the mare to Frostmans Fox was Frenchmans Fox. “Vinny” was a standout futurity horse and derby winner in the early 1990s. PC Frosty Fox, by PC Fire N Smoak and PC Frostmans Fox won the 5 State Futurity in 2002, and the was the Maturity Champion in both 2003 & 2004.      

The broodmare band has been cut back to allow for more time to finish young horses. Raising horses is one thing, but to produce a finished competitive horse takes absolute dedication. The ultimate goal has always been to train and to win on the individuals raised on the Cowan Ranch. Watching these horses grow up and reach their potential makes the long days worthwhile.
